Well I tried them more carefully than I expected. I ordered these for my son to grow up and ended up borrowing them for myself! I'm a petite woman - 5ft 5in, 110lbs, wear big ones if you plan to try them too. But enough about adult usage, let me give you a practical overview. They are very thin which is actually my favorite part. We mainly use waterproof pants for mild Oregon winters. I love that they can easily be worn over whatever pants my son wears. They take up almost no space when packed. And they clean up really well. I wore them outside in the pouring rain for two hours yesterday. Even my waterproof Eddie Bauer coat soaked up some water. But these pants stayed dry for 20 minutes and every drop of rain just dripped onto their surface. If you are looking for waterproof then this is definitely for you.
