Review on πŸ” Exploring the Versatility of Hitess Bearing Extension: Wide Range of Length Options by Mark Jefferson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not very heavy version

I make cabinets as a hobby. After the cost of materials and the time and effort I put into my work, I certainly wouldn't want it Making the case cheaper by using equipment that isn't up to my standards I found these rails are too easy to damage when you slide the drawer into the rails The stamped metal that holds the ball bearings in place flexes light which basically destroys the bolt. Of the 20 slides I bought I threw away 3 sets. They have to be very accurate (say within 1/16") in aligning the drawer and rails as well as the total distance between the rails compared to the width of the drawer. The more easily damaged the slides, the less they stick. Also, the pulling force required to overcome the self-closing springs when opening the drawer is too high. My wife was not very happy with the feel of the drawers. Finally, the screws come with guides, sorry. The heads snap off at the slightest torque, I threw them all in the trash and bought better bolts in bulk to replace them. I don't recommend them. On my next project I used Knape and Vogt Durislides. It wasn't a self-closing version but the quality was like night and day and cheaper.
