As other reviewers said they are quite tight. However, for us it was not the shoes themselves that were the problem, but the elastic band on the sides. It should be taller or deeper so you have more room to put your foot in. Once his leg was in he could walk normally and they fitted perfectly. They looked adorable in his little vest and tie! For disposable shoes like ours, they did a great job. I wouldn't recommend them any more. My son is 2 1/2 and we bought the 8w if that helps.
