Review on LED 312 VariColor Batteries Charger Diffuser by Andrew Mclemore

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Lots of light in a small body

Only 4 stars out of 5 because the swivel mount sucks. Despite this, the light output and runtime are fantastic. The device makes a solid impression and looks well made. The Diffusion Filter is a great idea that reduces the "hot spot" in the scene when shooting in very dark places. You'll need to find the best mounting solution that suits your needs, but the socket on the bottom of the flashlight itself is a standard 1/4x20 threaded socket - as are the tripod (USA) and accessories. One thing that is not done yet It is clear that "variable color temperature" is achieved by having two different sets of LEDs with two different color temperatures. When the color temperature scale is at its extreme position (in either direction), only HALF the LEDs are lit. As you turn the dial, it "fades" from one group of lights to the next. For maximum light output, center the dial and adjust the camera's white balance accordingly.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Vulgarity
