The phone itself is great but the 'new' batteries were bad, didn't charge in 24 hours and died in minutes. After several heated arguments with the phone company (via email) about receiving a "busy" message and no dial tone, it became clear that the batteries were dead. Didn't want to return the whole phone as the next one might be the same so I spent a lot of time looking for batteries. RESULTS: (1) Batteries supplied by VTech have a short lead that fits easily, while the replacement lead is too long and difficult to fit into the case. (2) Talking to different manufacturers and comparing "compatible" batteries, I learned that this phone works with several 2.4V batteries: 300, 400, 600 or 750 mAh, the difference is in the capacity or charging time depending on the manufacturer. (I'm not an electrician so do your own research when in doubt.) (3) The batteries that came with my NEW CS6529 phone were only 300mAh. (4) VTech Factory Outlet is offering 2 packs of 750mAh for $29.95 plus shipping with no source information. My latest purchase from Revain Prime: iMa Ryme offers a 2-pack of 600mAh with matching short cables for $6.95, made in China. So much stress from two small batteries!
