As the topic says, it's important to understand what is and isn't. They are designed for accent lighting. It's not the halogen under-cabinet lighting you put in the kitchen for cooking or under office cabinets for writing a note. It's just not bright enough. This should be obvious on battery power, otherwise the battery would die in a few hours. They work well as accent lights. But, for example, in my office I still have to turn on the desk lamp to write a note. These lights improve the overall atmosphere on my desktop and make things more visible. I recommend them but just understand what you get.
