I've been waiting for my large Soda Stream tank to run out thinking it would allow me to refill it. When that day came I had a box in which I would turn my 20# CO2 tank upside down without a siphon to pass liquid CO2 through the device into my SS tank. After using the large cylinder to bleed the lines, I connected the SS tank to the filler and followed the instructions closely. The pressure gauge on the SS tank worked almost immediately. Concerned that it was going too fast and I heard almost nothing about the gas movement, I left the system in fill mode for half an hour. I removed and tried out the SS tank. It was empty. I tried the whole process a few more times, reading the instructions and following them closely. Same result every time. The only thing I can think of is that Soda Stream installed a non-return valve or one-way valve on the tank to prevent the customer from refilling. If so, why are people selling these devices? Unfortunately my waiting to empty the SS tank made it impossible for me to return this product. I ended up buying a 6 foot hose system that connects a 20 inch CO2 tank directly to my manufacturer Soda Stream. I will not push anyone to buy this used unit. I'll see if I can split it up for another purpose.
