These plastic squares are fine. They are square shaped on the edges, which is suitable for most applications. However, the middle section of each arm exhibits the typical shrinkage typical of molded plastic parts after they are released from the mold. This shrinkage shows up only on the largest squares. I still use these squares, but I place and pinch the larger squares more carefully. If you're looking for squares that you don't have to worry about, I'd suggest getting an aluminum set.
