I put on the Mercedes Benz GL350 hoping to withstand the gusty winds that blow all the time off the Pacific coast. It's a bit small, but deliberately sized to fit snugly like a suitcase. How well it fits, you still have to hold the lid tight. What worries us the most is the fog and dust that accumulates throughout the day. Will be updated as it goes with the wind and wet foggy weather. The material is pretty thin, like two layers or something. I don't expect it to last that long. It's good to have three hat points compared to many brands instead of just two. The previous one we had was thicker and felt sturdy, but without the center seat belt, the buckles snapped in a gust of wind. It's worth it if it lasts longer than 3 months as each car wash costs more than the cover. Update August 2019The lid can withstand gusts of wind and very dense fog, such as rain at night. No more sticky residue from plankton with mist that attracts dust that we need to wash at least twice a week to prevent rust.
