Review on Enhance RV Safety with Mount-n-Lock SafetyStruts Heavy Duty Bumper Brackets by Antonio Urbina

Easy to install, should work great!

I bought these to carry camping gear that I don't need in the camper like generator, fuel and firewood. So I attached a cargo pallet, which is typically used in the back of a truck for such goods, to the bumper. I also have a generator box in which I can lock expensive and lightweight generators (you know, the ones that cost $2-4k), but I've settled on a cheaper but much bulkier and slightly heavier generator, the one sold by the Champ was manufactured and developed for mobile homes. use. It's not too heavy, but I can bolt it to a truck bed that connects to a hitch I mounted on the bumper. Bumper. A few trips and bam! I can lose all my things! It's not overly expensive, but nobody wants to lose $2,000 worth of gear, let alone need a bumper repair. So I assembled these brackets to reinforce the bumper and prevent that kind of loss. To be honest I have no idea if I'm going to lose my bumper, it just might not happen. But at least I can spend a few bucks to prevent it. Then again, no one is promising that this will prevent such a loss, but it certainly makes it less likely. So here I am with two thick brackets ready for assembly. Installation is EASY for those even partially mechanically inclined. I took a drill with a slightly undersized drill bit compared to what the documentation says, as I'm not an auto repair shop I just didn't have everything on hand in exact measurements. The screws are self-tapping (note: they are NOT self-drilling, but they will cut threads in heavy-gauge steel pipe. This is independent of light-gauge steel), so it was a simple drill and then tighten. The beginning was a bit difficult for me because the threads didn't want to get caught, but it worked anyway. I put 3 screws on each spacer provided. I didn't use nuts but I couldn't as it's steel tubing. However, mine were thick walled, but I used three screws instead of two like most people do, just to be safe.
