A lot of work, too much work for regular ice cream
The silicone tray wiggles and wobbles, so it's hard to make sure it doesn't fall apart. The lid helps, but not much. After freezing, it takes an incredible amount of strength to get the cubes out of the bowl(s). If someone made special ice cream for a specific event you might think. Otherwise buy something else.
