I got the smallest size for my 3lb Yorkie and it fit her perfectly. It's definitely small, so if you're in doubt about the sizing, I'd go up a size. The bottom is quite narrow and I didn't think my pup would fit, but once I closed it it was fine. She loves it and it allows me to have my hands free when she just wants a hug or when we are going somewhere. If your dog is over 5 pounds I would definitely go up a size. The harness is comfortable for me but my dog weighs next to nothing so I'm sure it helps. It's well made and for the process you just can't beat it.
