Review on 📱 Sony RM AV3000 Universal Discontinued Manufacturer: The Ultimate Remote Control Solution by George Matthews

The Sony remote is for the techie only, not your wife or anyone already intimidated by simpler remotes. I bought it to give my wife a key configuration of her audio/video system at home but he can't. The failure has less to do with the limitations of the Sony remote and more to do with the "stupidity" of the audio/video components themselves, particularly the TV. Although the RMAV3000 is well designed, it has 3 disadvantages to consider before purchasing for less ambitious applications. None of them will "fail" him. The disadvantages of the device begin with its dimensions. It is not designed to be used with one hand. The next 2 cons are interconnected. The display is almost unreadable in all normal lighting conditions (unless normal means shining a spotlight on it for you). You need to turn on the backlight. The second legibility disadvantage has to do with back reflections from the smooth front panel. This is annoying, regardless of whether you try to read the display with or without the backlight. It would make sense for Sony to switch this to a diffuse bezel, or add an anti-reflective coating to the existing bezel. (Perhaps you could add your own diffuser. I haven't tried this so I don't know to what degree of improvement it will be. We have a unit that due to some function code like power on/off for the Most audio/video signals are "switchable" devices and video mode for the TV and don't have specific infrared codes to activate them. So when a finger finds the Friends (or Wife) button, it presses one or the other controller or one or more buttons on one or more of the audio/video components and components to a changed state, no "macro" on this remote control can restore all your audio/video hardware to its original state.It is not the Blame Sony, because even the smartest, most programmable controller can't compensate for the inherent stupidity of the hardware it's trying to control. The E The end result is that I have an intelligent universal remote control and I can't. You still have to live with individual assurance that the hardware on/off and video mode states are correct. That means to my wife that she does not dealing with 5 separate controllers that she doesn't understand, but with one controller that she has to switch to 5 different control modes that she doesn't understand. It is a pity!
