We originally bought this kit because our accelerator pump failed and we decided to rebuild the carburetor from scratch. Everything was fine except for the accelerator pump; the spring holder didn't fit, so the spring was crooked (actually took the holder from the old pump), and the pump seal is made of wafer-thin rubber. When we tried to drive it, the acceleration was even worse than before. I've tried everything from kinking the seal to shortening the check valve spring. I had to buy a regular accelerator pump which solved the problem right away - the rubber was about twice the thickness of this one. The bottom line is you literally cannot run your boat with this kit if your old pump is bad. I give one star because when you buy a carburetor kit you assume that all the parts will actually work, which was not the case with this kit. The idle has indeed improved, but that is most likely due to the cleaning of ducts and injectors.
