Review on 175158 Primer Solenoid Service Maintenance Valve Kit 18-7044 for Johnson Evinrude - Ensuring Fit and Optimal Performance by James Crofton

Flag so loose in cover. I figured the o-ring was decent enough to handle 3-5 psi of fuel pressure. So I went ahead and assembled and installed the solenoid. I pumped up the primer and fuel immediately poured out of the flag. Took it apart and decided to try a better o-ring. It didn't leak, if you didn't rotate the flag it would leak. I set my original flag and there is no more leakage, but now the solenoid is not working. I've compared my original cap to the new one and the new one seems to make the flag/cam farther from the butt. I reassembled the solenoid with my original cap, flag and new diaphragm and now it works fine and doesn't leak. I would send the kit back but I mainly needed the membrane so I can't send a parts kit. However, it would be nice if you could send me a cap and flag/cam with no casting defects.
