I bought a very good headset with a microphone that I can use for both work and play. It has a USB port for my computer, but you can disconnect the headset cable (3.5mm plug) from the headset controls and use it with headphone jacks, AUX jacks, old cell phones, etc. I did this to use the same headset to call through my laptop without a headphone jack (Webex, Zoom, Hangouts) *and* my iPhone (with Lightning adapter). Sounds like it should be easy, right? I can't tell you how many 3.5mm to Lightning adapters I've bought trying to find one that would allow me to use both my headset's audio* and mic capabilities with my iPhone . Most just let me hear audio - my mic was useless. This adapter is high quality, built to last, and best of all, it *works* for two-way calling. I really, really, really want Apple to go back to using a separate 3.5mm audio jack on their devices. Until then, at least I have this adapter.
