In the last month and a half I have switched from disposable razors to metal safety razors (not 'straight') using shaving cream or shaving soap lather. I bought about five different models of safety razors. In all honesty, the effects of the increased weight of the metal on the handling of the tool almost automatically makes shaving with a safety razor a deeper experience that not only forces meditative concentration, but also trains the dexterity and factors that make shaving even more enjoyable . Of the five different razors I have purchased and used in the last month and a half, the Parker Variant's construction, material and design has produced the most professional quality results of all five razors. The ability to adjust the "aggressiveness" of the safety blade's contact with the face is adjusted with the built-in "level" selector switch at the end of the handle. Being metal rather than plastic is a detail that underscores the Parker Variant Adjustable's confidence in its robust construction and longevity as a dependable tool. Of the five razors I currently own and use, the Parker Variant Adjustable is the one that I have the most confidence in for its various performance factors.
