I bought 2 types of 3 inch hot swap SATA enclosures and I prefer this one. The other was more complex and had a fan, but I preferred the simplicity of this unit. I don't have to worry about mechanical failures as much as the other one and I've found that no additional cooling is required. It was easy to install and very easy to put in the discs. The only problem I had to find was a 2.5" to 3.5" converter so I could connect my 2.5" drives to it. Of the 3 purchased, 1 worked just fine. The voltage across it feels a bit dangerous when closing the converter bay, but not enough to really bother me.
