Initial Review: What I Expected

This is my first review of the Maxpedition CMC Wallet. It replaces the Rainbow Triple wallet I've had for years. It seems very well made - just what I expected from Maxpedition. This is a double wallet with velcro closure. The coin pocket on the back of the wallet takes a little getting used to. I've never had a wallet with one of these, but I already use it and see its usefulness. There is only one negative point and that is the only negative I can say about this wallet after using it. it's only a few days. The zipper for the diaper bag is very large and annoying. When I carried a change purse, it stuck out and sealed my pocket. If I carried it in my diaper bag, I would feel it all day, especially when I sat down. The zipper is just too big in my opinion. What I did was use needle nose pliers and pry off the top of the zipper puller just enough so I could remove the handle and then close it again. The train was too big. I can move the slider up and down just by pushing it with my thumb - I don't need a zipper that big. If I feel like I need something to wiggle it up and down I use a piece of gutted paracord or something. That's all, that's the only negative I can find in this wallet so far. Velcro on the cover seems strong. It's noisy when you open it. No one can open your wallet in the same room as you and you don't know about it. Haven't used the three stretch pockets yet, but I'm sure I'll find something to stash in them. I like how the load is distributed on this wallet. I know I use a triple wallet so it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges, but this wallet spreads the load much more evenly than my old one. I don't feel like I'm sitting on a huge, fat pile of things. I also like that this wallet has two currency compartments. I keep my money that needs to be used in the front slot and the money that isn't used in the back slot. The size is about right. If it was a bit bigger it would stick out of the top of my pants pocket but now it fits perfectly. I read some reviews and saw that the Maxpedition Spartan wallet is too tall and will stick out of some pants pockets. You must have received some comments and requests on the subject as this wallet is just the right size. As I said, this wallet is new to me, so after using it for a long time I don't have many reviews yet. I've been wearing it for three days now. If my opinion on Maxpedition changes after taking it longer I will come back and update this review. But for now I would recommend this wallet. It seems to be a very well made wallet: good design, strong stitching and durable materials. I hope this lasts for years.
