First, I'll note that I bought the bigger 6 qt size to cover my 5 qt kitchenaid because I may upgrade to a bigger one someday, but it fits the 5 qt perfectly. Don't hesitate to upgrade the size! It's a canvas-like fabric so it stands easily, but it's still thin enough to fold a few times and store away if needed. Since the bottom of the cover sits directly on the counter, my bowl stays cleaner (unless I forget to wipe the underside of the arm after use, it happens, and dried food falls in, but that's on me). Anyhow, it keeps dust and stinkbugs out of the bowl between uses and that's the goal! Plus, it's super cute!
