I mean, it's 2020—who hand washes grill tongs in warm soapy water? I mean, fine crystal and china, yes I get it, but grill tongs? These items have been dishwasher safe for over 20 years. Sorry, but despite what the label says, mine goes in the dishwasher. I'm sure they'll turn to crap in a year or less, but that's what I get for not reading the fine print. I never thought you could buy grilling tools that had to be hand washed. Aside from the cleaning issue, these pliers work great and are well made. The lock feature is pretty clumsy and not very useful. But the material is not thin. However, next time I'll go for the dishwasher safe ones and proudly state it on the container!
