Why do all professional oil change shops tighten the oil filter? Thank goodness this oil filter wrench is metal as I had to use a broken rod to remove my Prius' very tight oil filter cap. This wrench worked well and didn't slip off the filter cover. Before removing or installing the filter cover, make sure the wrench is properly applied to the filter cover to avoid deforming the filter cover or cleaning the grooves.
