The contents are securely closed by lids with spring hinges. I often carry this in my pocket and the lids have never leaked salt or pepper. Clear plastic construction with Lexan branding lets you know when to fill up. Removing the blue filler caps is easy with a flathead screwdriver. It is possible to overtighten these blue caps, so use only reasonable force. I have several of these dispensers and always keep one in my car to increase my fast food purchases.
