My old phone mount (with air vent) was loose and I was looking for a replacement that doesn't connect through the air vent because I noticed my old phone mount fell off when sharp curves or a sudden stop, and then I stumbled over this one. This is a completely different concept and works very well for me. I've been using it in the evenings for about a week and no problems at all. Very happy with the purchase and I love that I can mount it on the sun visor. Not to mention how easy it is to take it off and put it on somewhere else.
