They do what they were made for. If you have an expensive home system or home theater system, or are too demanding, get wrought gold systems instead. If you're plugging in kids' TVs or non-critical A/V gear, those devices are just as good at conducting electrons as any other. Just not as tight as the edited types. Everything worked great for my low frequency applications.
