I installed this on my 2012 Ford F-150 and am very happy with the results (craftmanship aside). It's worth noting that the bar attaches to the tow hooks on the truck (as stated in the description). If your truck is the same as mine and doesn't have tow hooks, you'll need to cut the plastic choke under the bumper to gain access to the mounting points. It could be a bee fly! After drilling the corners, sawing with a drywall saw, trimming with metal snips and cleaning with a clerical knife. All in all I spent about an hour cutting the louver, an hour installing the pole, and about 45 minutes connecting the lights and tying/hiding the wiring. Overall I would say the rod is primarily for looks if you will. To protect your bumper from all but the lightest impact, you can look elsewhere. But for my purpose it's ok.
