The elastic is of poor quality and when it wears out, the belt becomes wavy and bumpy.
Terrible quality rubber. If the elastic breaks, the edges of the belt will become wavy and the area where the buckle goes through the belt will become bumpy. It looked good when I hung it in my closet last fall and looked bad when I took it out this spring. I've had the belt for less than a year. A person can consider it a disposable belt and buy a new one every year.
