I have been hiking the mountains and deserts of the western United States for over 45 years. I worked as a survival instructor and backcountry guide for 18 of those years. This is the best thermal blanket and tarp combo I have found so far. However, you must use your common sense and do not expect magic from him or any other cosmic blanket. Neither of them will be a "self-contained" sleeping bag that will keep you warm even when it gets a little chilly. Also, most of them are NOT breathing. And I can promise you'll wake up wet if you wrap yourself in it. UTOOL Ultra Emergency Blanket is no different. It's not magic either, but it's durable enough to make a great base fabric, light enough to carry around in a backpack, and the reflective side retains heat better than most IFs, . You wrap it around your sleeping bag. Although I've never done this, the tarp is large enough and waterproof enough that you can use it to build several different types of shelters for one person if needed. But even that is not magic and does not replace a good tent. I think it will also be a good signaling device in case of emergency. Overall I'm happy with what I got.
