Lifeguard. As a new parent, I had no idea how exhausting it is to hold a baby all day, every day. I also didn't expect to read so many rules about where you can and can't rest your baby - but they all make sense! This portable bassinet makes my everyday life so much easier. While I already have a bassinet upstairs for sleeping and a bassinet in his play area, this portable bassinet makes housework so much easier and allows me to rest wherever I am when he's tired. CONSTRUCTION: Incredibly well built with very soft yet strong sides. I see no choking or other injury hazards from the sides of the cradle and believe there is no material that would block his breath if my baby were to roll onto his side. Everything is very tight, there are no loose parts that could be dangerous. There could be a little more padding on the bottom for comfort, but I still mostly use it on soft surfaces (like a sofa). I don't think it's recommended, but what's the point if I only use it on the floor? CONSTRUCTION: Bulky but not particularly for a bassinet. The cradle is quite strong, but takes up a lot of space. This has the benefit of allowing me to use it for a while as my child grows, but it also potentially limits positioning and range of use. I appreciate that it folds in half for transport or storage (in a "C" shape, not like a burrito), but the left side stays pretty flat forever and the right side is nicely rounded . The removable canopy is a nice touch and protects the child from the sun that shines through the uncoated windows. USE: Open, attach canopy (or not), put baby in. Enjoy your vacation while your child rests! Light. Folds up conveniently for portability and storage, and the straps make it easy to carry around as well as carry your little one or whatever. Save the included plastic bag if you want to keep it clean while traveling.
