Review on ๐Ÿฉบ Healer's Petcare Medical Dog Bootie - Blue, Single Unit by Ashley Slater

Slips off the paw.

Doesn't stay in place. I bought both the large and medium sizes for my 70 lb lab and while the medium size is better they just slip off the paw. No wonder the small size is never available. Also, there is nothing in the trunk to attach the gauze pad (like Velcro). My dog had wet dermatitis on one paw and I was looking for something other than a cone to keep him from licking (especially after taking medication) and ripping off the bandage that is ruining him. The only way to even get the medium to work was to wrap the paw in a thick layer of Kerlex and Coban before putting the boot on, which somehow prevents the dog from pulling it off, but I can still do it. However, wearing a boot over a thick bandage somewhat defeats the purpose. I think it would be more productive to keep the kerlex and coban dry as an outer coating because. it doesn't work as intended - like a paw bandage. It also appears to be less healing as it blocks air access as it is non-porous. The idea is good but the design is lame.

Pros
  • Non-stick gauze pads provide a dressing that won't stick to the wound while it heals.
Cons
