I bought this cover for my 1961 Nash Metropolitan. The Nash has a 17" handlebar which is taller than the product description allows, but since the wheel is a very narrow diameter, I decided to give it a try.First I put the lid in very hot water (too hot for a bath, not too hot to dip my hands in) and let it there for 5 minutes .I then attached the cover to the handlebar, using my body to attach one side while using both hands to tighten it 60%.After prying the cover open completely with a large screwdriver, I straightened and adjusted it for a comfortable fit it took a lot of effort to put the cover on and i am a big man i would like to add that i bought the cover knowing that si e is advertised as suitable for the Max steering wheel. 16 inches. But I was willing to try. I know it either doesn't fit or I might destroy it in the process. So far it's been worth the risk. It adds more to the look of the interior than you might think, along with some 'beef' to the old-school stock steering wheel. While it looks great, we'll see how it holds up (and how durable) with the added stretch. it's in the long run).
