**Re-edited to allow 4 month tracking. Follow-up within 4 months: The finish is just beginning to fade. The car is always outside so I don't think I have much to complain about. It seems to disappear in places, and not always consistently - quite interesting. In any case I would say it will last in the range of 4 months not in the range of the year it is promoting. Still very satisfied for the price, especially when other similarly priced products last for several weeks. I'll try to tweak it a bit to see how it works. **Edited to add a star after 2 months as the product has held up and looks the same as when originally worn. That's already better than many other non-ceramic products on the market! ** Additional Thoughts: * After 24 hours it was completely dry and smooth to the touch. Great!* No sign of fading after two months - looks the same as the day I put it on. Also great! *You will likely only use the applicator once, so do everything you need to do at once. Aside from lead separation, once the product dries on the pad, the product becomes stiff and begins to break into pieces. *Use a few drops of the product at a time, trying to get as fine an even coverage as possible. I can spot spots where I haven't consistently applied it to my car at certain angles (it looks thicker/"wetter"). Definitely not bad (and invisible to those who aren't looking), but it annoys me a bit. Work twice as fast and in less time than my first attempt. First review below. Not exactly sure why, other than I was determined to buy a ceramic based product (which it claims it is) and this option seemed like the cheapest option specifically designed for a plastic surface. As I am one of the first (or maybe the first) to review this, I feel it is important to say that I paid for this product. It was not provided to me free of charge for review or anything like that. I spent about 2 hours pasting it to the fairing of my Jeep Liberty 06. For those who don't know, this car has almost as much plastic as it has paint. Over time, this plastic lining will fade. In addition to fading into an unappealing light gray, there were also "zebra stripes" in some places. Most blacks also had a funky "rainbow" effect. My first thoughts on the packaging: - The product itself seems to be of good quality, but the packaging is a bit standard. Just an ordinary white box with instructions obviously written abroad. My packaging had a manufacture date of 1/2020 and an expiry date of 2022. The product came with liquid in a 30ml glass bottle, folded instructions and a pretty awesome sponge applicator. Unlike other ceramic-based paints, this sponge had a rough, textured side that was great for applying product to plastic. Although it started to separate towards the end, it made the process a lot easier than I've seen with other ceramic applications. After preparing the plastic surfaces (cleaning with soap and water and then using 70% Isoalcohol on each part just before application) I started using the product. About 5 drops in a foam applicator and I started applying it. I watched as the plastic returned to a uniform dark color before my eyes. Please note that it does not have a plastic return stamp. It appears to coat/"moisten" them, and the ceramic properties are said to keep them that way after drying. That means it turned my light gray plastic to dark gray and then turned the faded/rainbow black plastic to a nice dark permanent black. I believe this is the "factory" look of my Jeep, but I can't verify it because I haven't had it since new. My wife said it looks great and "like new" which is a pretty good compliment from her. I recommend trying an area that isn't too noticeable to get used to how it's applied and how it will look. I made this under my rear license plate as a starting point in case I didn't like it. I also recommend not working in direct sunlight. It has a lot to do with ceramics and I can see why. I bet it will have a chance to dry before you can wipe off the excess. Speaking of excess, I SIMPLY wiped off any excess product with a clean microfiber cloth about half an hour after the product had set. You can tell too much product by the fact that it looks noticeably wetter than the rest. I rubbed side to side instead of the traditional "buff" and it looked great. The product wasn't fully cured and was still a bit tacky so I don't think buffing would be the best option. My general thoughts are: - I am very impressed with the ease of use and the results. - Preparation is key - clean the plastic completely to degrease it and ensure the product adheres properly. - It helps to have "no oily residue" and that's pretty true. Some stickiness appeared during drying of the product. I suspect it will stop being tacky once it's fully cured. It's gotten better. The only area I'm not 100% impressed with is the zebra stripes on the plastic. It's MUCH better, but I can still see it a little bit. Anyone who didn't know he was there probably wouldn't have noticed him. I don't think this is a fault of the product but everything else turned out so great I thought I'd mention it. It doesn't seem to hurt the color if you put a little on it. I just buffed it off the paint with no noticeable product residue. Small things have a big impact. I applied about 5 dots of liquid to the applicator at a time. After I'm done it looks like I have about 3/8 of a bottle left. Again, my jeep has a lot of plastic in it compared to an average car. At the moment I'm only interested in durability. If the product is indeed ceramic as advertised, it should last a year or more (hopefully a lot longer). If I notice any fading in the near future I will update my rating and review to help other potential buyers. All of the above are worth trying for the price in my opinion. I can't post pictures at the moment, but if I get the chance I'll show the fairing alongside and without the product.
