We needed beds for 4 18 inch dolls. We took a closer look and decided to try these bunk beds. We ordered two bunk beds. So for about $60 we sleep four dolls. All other reviews seemed positive except we ordered the beds on a Tuesday. They arrived on Wednesday. My 9 year old daughter wanted to help collect. She really knew how to use a screwdriver and we assembled her in about half an hour. The beds are firm and not thin. The husband is a first class master and I would never call them crap. They aren't high quality either. But they are good toy beds. Dont move. Small dowels and strong screws form the connections. The part that forms the bottom of the bed slides into a milled groove along the side panels and the edges fit snugly into it. If you're worried about decades of stability, a little wood glue around the joints will help. Now I'm making quilts and I'm going to fix bedding. The mattress is thin but good. Dolls don't complain. Pillows are ok. But the top sheet is too short. Again, I was going to do a bedding overhaul anyway. Yesterday my daughter and I went shopping for fabric and found lovely items on sale and we have a plan. So bed linen will never be decisive for us. But if you want good bedding. I think you will be disappointed. If you're really looking for a beautiful doll bed that offers more than enough space for your 18 inch dolls, these beds are a win-win. a girl in a sewing project to make up for the lack of bedding in the fall.
