I've had intermittent Ethernet problems for a few years. Sometimes several times a day, sometimes not a few weeks. Because of this, my fire cube lost connection. I would have to unplug it from the router and plug it back in. I have a modem and network switch at the top and a fire cube at the bottom (with another switch. For other things). The house was pre-connected to Ethernet. I thought about calling a professional to fix the problem. I replaced the cables to the wall. Even switches. After purchasing it and watching some videos, it quickly became apparent that the cables are 123 feet long. But the two wires were only 65 feet long. I measured the distance in my attic and found an intersection I didn't know existed. I rewired the connection to the correct RJ45. And that's been perfect for a few months.
