At home, the 2.4 range has more neighbors than it can comfortably accommodate. The earlier router manufactured by Mikrotik began to perform poorly under these conditions. I came up with the decision to move to 5 GHz with support for the ac standard so that I could solve the issue. As a consequence of this, I went out and purchased a kit consisting of an ASUS RT-AC66U, an ASUS PCE-AC68 stationary computer, and an ASUS USB-AC56 laptop. Because I require an idiot router, the 68th did not purchase. In addition to two laptops, a Blackberry phone, an iPhone belonging to a son, and a Google Nexus tablet are connected to the 5 GHz network. The older Android devices and printers belonging to other members of the family are operating on the 2.4GHz frequency. All wired electronics, including televisions, NAS devices, playstations, and android boxes. There are around 12 different gadgets in total. As a direct consequence of this, there are only two 5 GHz networks that can be seen in the surrounding area: mine and the network belonging to my neighbor. The range is open and free:) The speed of Wi-Fi ac considerably outpaces the speed that is made available by the ISP. Linked to the provider by means of PPPoE at a speed of 100 Mbps. The speed of downloading huge files via the provider's internal FTP resources was tested, and the results showed that the router does not reduce the speed, as I obtain approximately 95 Mbps. I was happy with how the device operated at 2.4 GHz; the speed started to correlate to n, which is something that I did not witness on the Mikrotik. Its signal is really weak in comparison to that of earlier routers; nonetheless, in the actual conditions of an apartment, it does not dip below two sticks anywhere, and the pace at which work is performed does not decrease. In any event, a computer with an ASUS PCE-AC68 that is hidden behind a wall of concrete is operating at its highest speed. Generally, I am content with everything. The speed is fantastic. DAmazon is working. Open VPN clients cling. I'm not going to install any modified firmware because the default one works just fine.
