My 9 year old needed a new hoodie and we live in California so it fitted perfectly! It's warm enough without being too heavy. The material is also very soft which he loves. He is very picky about materials and prefers to wear only "soft" clothes. This one was great! This is his new favorite sweatshirt! I would say it fits as expected. He's also slim for his age but at 9 it's hard to find the right size so I usually go for a 10/12. There is room to grow, although not too much.
