With a large library for Plex currently stored on the HP Mediasmart server, the Mac Mini worked great with the PC-based server. For some reason my Media Smart Server started with some problems. Not sure what the problem is, but no cable and Plex were my main source of entertainment and I needed the quickest fix I could get. In order to get media from HP to try and fix, I needed a hard drive anyway. , so I decided to create a disk farm on a Mac Mini and just go from there. Using USB 2.0 (it's a Mac mini from last year, not 3.0 yet), I transferred and set up the files over the course of a day. and works with a Mac Mini plugged directly into it. No lag, clipping, loss of audio sync, nothing but great performance from this drive. Now only time will tell. don't think I need it for everything I do with this drive.
