I put this halo on right out of the box. No weird smell, and you don’t need to style or straighten. This synthetic hair feels softer and with no matting, compared to some "remy” hair I’ve purchased. The clear plastic string is stretchy for less tension. For the price, this halo is amazing! A con- is the clips were not sewn in the correct spot for a secure placement. It’s an easy fix, just snip one thread for each clip and they come right off. I replaced the clips as far to each side as I could get. Also I did not like the "bra-like” straps on the sides. They keep slipping out, so I twisted them around a few times and now they are staying put. As with all my removable extensions, I do not recommend cutting, or very hot styling, or over-washing. Extension hair does not get the natural oils from your scalp and will get dryer than your natural hair. Overall, they feel soft to the touch, no matting, and it blends nicely. I definitely recommend!
