So I bought this vacuum to replace the Shark Professional Lift Away canister vacuum. The shark had a few problems, namely: 1. It had a connecting tube that eventually drained all the suction power. This tube was made of a material that was constantly tearing and we had to tape it over. It ended up being a tape rather than a tube, resulting in a loss of suction.2. I was absolutely SICK from emptying the canister, digging up pet hair, inhaling the dust, cleaning the filter, etc. It was gross. My wife and I agreed to do housework. She did it below and I did it above. Since the top is 100% covered with frieze carpet, the vacuum cleaner quickly became a point of contention for me. I did my research (a lot) and came to Orek. I didn't feel like spending over $500 on one of the better home versions that are aesthetically pleasing and instead decided to pocket the money and buy this $150 workhorse. And I'm IMPRESSED. We have 3 dogs and a cat. Dogs - Siberian Husky, German Shepherd and St. Bernard. Needless to say, we have a lot of pet hair. Some reviewers mentioned that they didn't think Orek was effective. These people are lying to you. Our carpets are remarkably clean now. This thing sucks up trash and pet hair like I've never seen before. This is AN ANIMALS. And its lightness. The pockets hold a lot, and when it's time to change them, just take them out, throw them away and replace them. They are cheap. I went through 2 in a month and got 25 packs for about $15. Get aromatic tabs. At first you actually smell them, after the first few days you don't smell anything anymore, which hopefully is the reason. Some people mentioned the burnt rubber smell when they started using the vacuum cleaner. I noticed it too, but I think it's just a fire phenomenon as it quickly disappeared. Replacement and service parts (belt/pulley) can be found on Amazon for less than $10. I expect to have to change the belts and rollers from time to time and this vacuum will last ten years. He has no bait. It cleans carpets and floors perfectly. We've used it downstairs on wood, carpet, and tile with no problem, and it removed loose pet hair and cat litter with no problem. Try it. The best vacuum cleaner I've ever had. See photos to learn more about the effectiveness of pet dander.
