Review on πŸ’ͺ AMD A6-3650 APU with Radeon 6530 HD Graphics: High-performance Quad-Core Processor [100W, Socket FM1] - Retail AD3650WNGXBOX by Sean Xayamonty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable CPU performance, powerful GPU (256MB card)

The AMD APU series is very economical and affordable. They might not be a great match for AMD Phenom or Intel i3, but the processing power is sufficient for media streaming, playback, and data processing (video creation, Photoshop, file conversion, etc.). It won't do chores, but it will give you enough power to get things done fast enough. CPU Temperature and Bearing Fan: The CPU stays fairly cool, ranging from 30F to 45F. It rarely overheats. The standard fan has a good cooling radiator. By default, the fan is not very quiet. I turned the fan down to about 50% of full speed so the noise is barely a whisper. But be aware: I haven't installed any other fans that seem to amplify the noise of this stock fan. If you build a PC with this standard CPU fan as the only fan, you will most likely have an audible noise. Cores: 4 cores give every PC additional performance and computing power. Many programs and games still only use two cores, and this processor can handle pretty much anything. Multitasking with multiple browser tabs and Microsoft Office programs is very easy. For the sake of the future, I've decided to go with a quad-core, especially since it's only $15-20 more expensive than a dual-core APU. card to the limit. I have a HIS PCI Express graphics card (H685F1GD) that can run the most powerful games at the highest settings, and I was hoping that this APU could at least run high-performance games at low resolutions. Unfortunately, this game cannot run Crysis 2 even on the lowest settings and lowest resolution. However, this game runs medium-high graphics intensive games like Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Left 4 Dead 2 at the highest settings. As my title suggests, it's like having a graphics card with 256MB of dedicated memory. The core clock is pretty good compared to most 1GB cards, but it still lacks pixel shaders. From a player's point of view, I was happy with his potential and ability. From a casual user's perspective, it handles multimedia files, streaming, and movies with ease. Watching a movie or video is instantaneous. For less than $100, this is the real deal and every computer builder's dream. Solid processing power and decent graphics capabilities. It seems I'm not the first to use this processor in a PC for a loved one or as a replacement for an aging 8 year old PC. Compared to the i5s, Phenom x4 and i7s I've used, this little guy puts up a good fight. This is nowhere near the amount of processing power and speed, but will suffice for most people's needs. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Unmatched DirectX 11 graphics card and powerful AMD processor technology in a single chip.
