I bought these for my truck which has a plastic floor so my gear doesn't slide around as much. The grip texture is great, but the adhesive is peeling off the plastic even though the strips are placed on a clean surface. Adhesive tape has a stronger adhesive base including 3M and even duct tape. These things are already peeling off and I installed them a week ago. You can work on fine-grained surfaces such as wooden steps or concrete; However, I wouldn't recommend it for plastic or laminate surfaces - the adhesive just isn't tacky enough.
