I have never used sewing scissors as I am new to sewers. I bought it to stop chipping. At first I thought they were really hard to cut through high quality cotton (quilt cotton). I'm used to them. It's possible that other scissors have a tension screw, but I haven't been able to find out if it loosens when the screw is locked. Should it be difficult to even open it? The other side of the screw rests against the scissor plane. Could this be a problem? I'm considering exchanging. Of course, 1 layer is best, but 3 is the absolute maximum. Not the best product for hands with mild arthritis.
