Excellent navigation - vacuuming and floor care

So this is my fourth robot vacuum in the last ten years. The first was a dumb robot that got stuck everywhere and I had to call a search party to find it. I haven't used robot vacuums for a while due to poor performance. A few years later, I bought two lidar-equipped robot vacuums from China. Both had excellent navigation, required minimal maintenance, and mostly didn't get stuck, so I was very open to buying another Chinese-brand robot vacuum if it came with lidar for navigation. I had considered getting the same vacuum as before but the final annoyance was the need to empty the dust bin after each use. Since robot vacuums have relatively small dust boxes I was keen for them to be self-cleaning, unfortunately the current options are flimsy and established brands either have poor navigation or are insanely expensive. I decided to risk it as I think it does lidar mapping just like my old robot vacuums. The experience I set out to do was simply set a schedule to vacuum my house twice a week and empty the trash can only once every couple of weeks. If I could meet these criteria without having to search frequently to solve it, I'd be happy. A few notes: I don't have any animals except for a toddler who leaves cookie crumbs everywhere. My carpet has a relatively low pile, but there are several bathroom rugs in my house that pose a problem and change the height of the floor. I haven't tested the wipe function, it doesn't interest me. My house is 1800 square meters. Feet is saturated with 4-hub Wi-Fi, so internet connection should never be an issue. When the vacuum is placed in a new location it first maps the room, the display seems more accurate than previous lidar vacuums I've had, at least based on the map drawings in the app. I've run the vacuum around my house a dozen times and only once did it get stuck in the USB charging cables I left lying around. It could still return to the dock on its own, but the app would send a notification to stop cleaning. I find that my previous robot vacuums have gotten stuck, and probably more often. Q6 managed to successfully handle the same circumstances a few more times. I deliberately placed the vacuum cleaner dock in the corner of my house surrounded by an office chair and other junk, he could always return to the dock and empty the trash can. It took 35 minutes to vacuum one floor of my house with 75% battery remaining on the default vacuum setting (Auto Boost on). It will last a little over an hour for my whole house, and about 50% of the battery is left. It's a bit hard to compare, but I felt it vacuumed better than my previous robot vacuums, and for the most part it picks up any crumbs my toddler left behind. The app is decent and offers a really cool map and route which you can then use to select the robot to clean specific areas of your home. Through the app you can see when they recommend replacing the side brushes (spares included), filters, etc. Also set how often you should empty the dust container (after every vacuum, every 2 vacuums or every 3 ). In general, I think it met my criteria, and the robot even speaks English with a cute Asian accent. A few minor issues to note, emptying the bin was quite noisy as the docking station is essentially vacuuming the bins. Another difficulty, and this only applies to the initial setup, is that the time setting (schedule) in the app has only been partially translated. So I used Google Translate to translate the following sections from Chinese to English.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Easy to maintain
