Exactly what it is meant to be. I think there are other reviews complaining about the stiffness of this thing, but it should be really stiff. I have an old HP 21-inch touchscreen monitor that I wanted to turn into a poor man's Surface Studio, and it was the obvious choice. That and installing audio/photo editing software on the monitor. I can bang the beat pretty aggressively in Fruity Loops on my touchscreen monitor and this mount holds it firmly in place. Once you get the angle right, it's stiff enough that you don't have to worry about it becoming impotent, if that's the way to put it. I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend you buy it if you are looking to do something like this. If you need something that you constantly flex back and forth or adjust the angle on a regular basis, you probably want to use a different product.
