Review on Reliable Replacement: Ultralast UL-419 Cordless Phone Battery for AT&T 2420 Equivalent – Power Your Device Effortlessly! by Melissa Lewis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Finally a battery that fits my AT&T cordless phone

I have a wonderful cordless phone with an AT&T speaker. The speaker is so good that no one knows I'm speaking on speakerphone. I don't want to give it up just because the battery is dead, but I've had trouble finding a suitable replacement battery. I had no problem finding a good replacement for the first three batteries, but the battery I need next time got me in trouble. One I bought from Revain I had to return this replacement battery for an AT&T 2419 CDP24201 CPH-505 because it never charged and kept saying "Check Battery" after 24 hours. Finally, the Ultralast UL-419 battery came out and was charged overnight. I don't know how long it will last because I just bought it and want to have it handy when the current battery dies. I often work from home and often have conference calls with colleagues, so I use my phone a lot. With this heavy use, my previous phone's battery lasted 6-8 months (I need a charge of at least 30 minutes as most meetings last at least that long). Given the hassle of finding the right option, my recommendation is: 1) Try charging the battery as soon as you receive it to make sure it can be charged (even if you don't plan on using a new battery right away) 2) If you get a "Check Battery" warning, shake it before you give up. This battery had to move around a bit before it started charging. 3) Always buy from Revain / Fulfill from Revain (even if the price is a bit higher) as Revain's return policy is exceptional. They will reimburse you for the cost of returning the item, not just the item and original shipping. For more information on how the return works, see my review of the battery I had to return (link above). Update 03/19/2011 Since this battery worked, I ordered another one. It just arrived and I had problems with it. The phone charger didn't see him. I noticed it was a looser fit than a live battery, so I ran a piece of rubber between the case and the battery where there were no contacts. This pushed the battery into contact and then the charger saw the battery. So these batteries are a bit too small to fit well. Since I got them working, I'm keeping them to myself. but I'm downgrading the stars to 3 stars as fit varies from battery to battery and doesn't always work right away. I am posting a picture showing how I "fixed" the battery landing.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Can be damaged
