Review on OM Digital Solutions DS-30 SEO-Optimized Digital Voice Recorder by Samuel Nguyen

As a graduate student, I wanted to do something to take notes regardless of location or environment (important thoughts often come while driving). With this voice recorder, it's easy to record thoughts whenever they arise and writing them down much faster than typing. The five folders are a great way to categorize notes from different sources, and the included software allows you to name the folders. I have three young children so one of the folders is used to record what they say. One folder is used for dissertation ideas, the other for general notes. I was also impressed with the recording capabilities of this device. I give presentations regularly and have found that the DS-30 makes it easy to record these presentations. The selectable microphone can be configured for lecture, conference or dictation, and these settings affect the recording (at least between the conference and dictation settings). The ability to save files to a computer was one of the main reasons I chose this device, and that performance works quite well. When I connect the DS-30 with the USB cable, the software opens automatically and offers an intuitive interface for transferring files to a computer. Additional Notes: The controls of the DS-30 are fairly easy to navigate. I've been using the device for over a month and I haven't changed the battery yet. A number of options are available, including how far the forward and backward buttons move the entry. Example: By default, the forward and backward buttons during playback skip to the next track or to the beginning of the current track (like a CD player). I changed the settings so that during playback the forward button jumps forward a minute and the back button jumps back ten seconds (I think my DVR was set). When playback is stopped, the buttons still switch to the previous and next tracks. I really liked the DS-30 and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of device.
