Review on ChiaoGoo Knitting Needles Interchangeable Shorties by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Check the thread ends of all needles as soon as you receive them

I did not check all the needles in the set immediately upon receipt, so the goods were out of the exchange/return date. When I screwed the grommets onto the cable, I found that one of the needles in the size 3 3" pair had no threads to screw into the cables - it was smooth. See closeup photo. Also, the 2 inch needles are so short that my hands become uncomfortable using them for long periods of time (I typically knit 4-8 hours at a time). Aside from these issues, needles have good sharp points and are smooth (not as slippery/fast as Addis). When connecting the cables, be sure to use a silicone grommet to really tighten them, otherwise they may come loose while you work. It's frustrating when your work gets stuck in a loose wire-to-pin connection. The good thing about cables is that they don't have as much "flex memory" as some all-plastic cables. All sizes of ChiaoGoo cables have a metal core, meaning they won't kink, yet remain highly flexible. I don't think I'll be using them as "everyday" needles - they're good for specific purposes, like knitting things in the round with a very small circle, or with lace and thin yarns. I probably wouldn't use them with yarn that breaks easily because the tips are so sharp; If you're not careful, you can accidentally pull a strand of yarn out of a stitch when knitting anything like two stitches together, especially with bouclé or shaggy yarns.

Pros
  • Needles
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Estupendas, las cuerdas son increíbles, no se enredan ni se doblan las agujas.

The size and ease of attaching cords. The weight of the needles.
