The best thing is that it has an option to create your own group chats with people you want, so there are no limits when it comes to number of participants in one chat room. There could be better user interface but I am sure this will get sorted soon enough. It costs money for every additional person added. This makes sense since they need to pay salaries also. If you have more than 100 members then its not worth paying for them all. We use meet app to keep track of our events where we post details about the upcoming meetings/events which other team members can join easily from anywhere.
