Review on πŸ’§ WGB32BM Sediment Manganese Filtration System by iSpring by John Bennett

Excellent system and no pressure loss

iSpring have developed a reliable, well made and beautifully packaged WGB32BM filtration system that is ideal for those drawing water from a well. I was very happy with everything related to the installation, which basically took place over two days. We have lived on our 20 acres of land for over 20 years and our water has been mostly acceptable, except for the abundance of iron and other solids that accumulate in toilet bowls over time. It wasn't too bad until the gas line that crosses our property needed repairs about 200 yards from our well. Contractors brought in heavy equipment and excavated a large area to uncover the pipeline. A few weeks after construction was completed, our water turned orange with a metallic taste. Apparently this activity has disturbed our aquifer. When the quality deteriorated beyond acceptable limits, we decided to first "shock" the well with bleach (which is highly recommended anyway) and install a whole house filtration system. After researching systems and reading reviews, I settled on the iSpring WGB32BM with the addition of the iSpring Spin Filter. The next challenge was deciding whether we should use PVC, Pex, Sharkbite fittings or glue with 3/4 inch copper like the current plumbing in our house. After a bit of research, I decided it was better to use copper, although it isn't. It has the flexibility of Pex but is definitely more reliable in the long run. For the inlet and outlet of the filters I used PVC adapters to fit openings from 1" to 3/4". in my life and know that the most important step is planning, measuring and dry installation, followed by clean connections and the right soldering technique. Once you learn the basics, it really isn't that hard. I designed the system based on iSpring's guidance and knowledge gathered from others on YouTube. I installed 4 shut-off valves and a bypass to make changing the filter easier. I placed an iSpring Spin Filter in front of the three filters and placed pressure gauges on each side of the main filters to assess the filter's pressure drop. Alter I soldered the whole system together before hooking it up to the plumbing and mounted it on a large board that was attached to a concrete wall. Upon completion I was pleased that there was absolutely no pressure drop when the new filters were plugged in and absolutely no leaks. In addition to the iSpring system, my additional cost for copper and hardware was around $125. I have attached some photos as photos are worth a lot of words.
