I used and enjoyed the 1st Gen Hiplock for several years until the fabric cover wore off. I expected the second generation to be at least as good as the first, if not better. The reflective case met my expectations! But I quickly found that this new design is way, way worse. What? My old hiplok attached easily with velcro at the waist. This new Hiplok is attached with a plastic hook that keeps snagging on my spokes when I thread it over the front wheel. This chain is also slightly shorter than the 1st generation Hiplok, making it less useful. Also, the lock itself is very tricky. , which often requires a lot of wiggling to get the key all the way down the barrel. Unfortunately there is no way to try this product without completely cutting open the packaging, so I cannot return it at this time. :-( I am very disappointed with this expensive mistake.
